After a few days in Vancouver, we leave for the first American city of our mission, Seattle !! The residence of the Headquarter of Starbucks, Amazon, Microsoft and many others. It’s looking interesting for the next few days.

First impression: It’s green, it’s welcoming and I like it!

We arrived in Seattle on Wednesday, April 18th and left on Sunday, April 22nd. During these short 4 days, we visited several interesting companies, but we also did bicycle, visited the Amazon Go store and made a wonderful discovery named « LimeBike ».

If you come to Seattle one day, you absolutely have to rent a bike and use the city’s bike paths, it has very beautiful landscapes and Seattle is organized in order to facilitate the use of bicycle in the city by means of path dedicated to bicycles.

The Amazon Go store is particularly interesting, it is the famous grocery store where you can enter and exit freely with your order without having to go through a cashier. There is only one employ and his role is mainly to answer the questions of disoriented customers. The whole grocery is equipped with a detector that follows you, detects the items you take and those you put back on the shelves. When you exit, he knows what you have left the store with and it automatically charge it to your Amazon account. Very handy when you’re in a hurry … Or asocial. If you are interested, here is more information:

Last discovery, the « LimeBike », the nicest thing which I enjoy during our stay. These are bikes that you can find everywhere in the city like our BIXI, but without a fixed station. You have to scan the QR code present on the bicycle with the dedicated application and the bike unlocks for your use. Fees are then fees automatically when you stop using the bike. During last year’s China mission, I had the chance to see the same kind of bike available from other companies such as « Mo Bike ». What China did not have, that Seattle is, are bikes powered by an electric motor! That’s what made me flinch … I installed the app and spent a lot of my time moving with an electric bike, very useful for those a little loose.

I highly recommend this city that I enjoyed a lot despite the recurring rain. It is such that my first impression, green, welcoming, and I like!
