Bicycles, at least something a little simpler… at least that’s what we thought… First initiated by Santa Cruz skateboards 25 years ago, the bicycle branch is now completely independent. They offer 13 different models to meet one or the other of your demands in off-road matters. It is not with their dropper post that they stand out, but with their expertise in composite. From the frame to the wheels, several of their parts are in carbon ensuring lightness and resistance to fatigue. Don’t worry, a patent on their pivot point system will allow you to absorb all adrenaline rushes!

The marketing director insists that the assembly must be done on site, while the parts are produced in China and Taiwan. This provides better quality control and reduces production costs. Cyclists are demanding and want an adapted product. We are talking about a frame that is not oversized, whose weight is at least without compromising rigidity and, above all, durability. Finally, these bicycles will be abused and that’s what the engineering team wants the most!

Peter Mueller-Wille, mechanical designer, tells us about research and development, the most critical stage. Made in California, all prototypes are computer designed, analyzed and laboratory tested before being launched on the production line. It is in fact warranty policies that allow them to discover new failures, keep a record, learn, set their own standards and implement them in manufacturing.

Finally, Santa Cruz is simple even if it is a rigorous and evolving field. Their typical West Coast corporate culture is reflected in their finished products, but also in their business relationships and involvement in the local community.
