We are schedule for a visit at the CISCO Customer Experience Center, by our contact, Raquel Aguilar, Head of Social Affairs, Cisco Academies for Cisco Americas.

As a reminder, Cisco is a global company that operates in the field of telecommunications, and more specifically in computer networks. The purpose of the presentation was to present how Cisco was currently operating in business and our everyday lives.

Cisco in the robotics industry

As explained above, originally the company was focused on everything that appealed to telecommunications equipment (routing, switches, firewalls …). In addition, the company has established itself in many areas, including automated production.

Our presenter showed us how Cisco is working with the robotics industry to enable companies to collect more and more data on their production. The Cisco Kinetic product offers real-time access to production data, statistics, reports and remote support.

Social networks and Cisco

The presenter gave us a brief introduction to the tools offered by the company, through third parties, to capture the information contained on social networks and have detailed statistics. The goal is to help companies monitor their image and what is said on social networks about them, quickly, easily and efficiently.

Virtual receptionist

We had a brief demo of Cisco videoconferencing equipment used for user support, including boarding card printing, customer support, and more. Indeed, Cisco offers to have a person available at all times, remotely, who will answer users’ questions quickly, and most importantly, who will be available virtually at all times. On the other side of technology, the real receptionist to manage several points of sale simultaneously, while sitting quietly in his office.

Cybersecurity

Important point of computing nowadays, security. Our presenter showed us how Cisco is working in this area, including through intelligent tools such as Telos. These tools are used to collect all data on attacks, threats, malware and many others around the world. From this information, available in the cloud, the equipment sold by the company is able to better defend users from future attacks.

History of the company and various uses

Finally, the company presented its history, how it came to sell telecommunications equipment and its future goals. We also went through a mini store, in which the company showed how it worked with stadiums, stores and other public places, to help promote brands, improve sales, and display information. in real time.

All in all, it was a very interesting visit, both for people already familiar with IT and people who did not know Cisco yet. This allowed us to understand how the company was implanted all over the world and how its technologies acted on the world around us and in our everyday life.
