École de technologie supérieure

Other Partner

The École de technologie supérieure is a constituent part of the Université du Québec network. Specialized in applied engineering education and research and technology transfer, it trains engineers and researchers recognized for their practical and innovative approach. Since its creation, it has a unique partnership with the business community and industry, both with large companies and SMEs.

With its specific mission focused on applied engineering and its close ties with organizations, ÉTS is clearly distinct from Quebec’s universities. It is also the only engineering school in Quebec offering engineering bachelor’s degree programs created specifically for technical college graduates wishing to acquire a university education.

At ÉTS, learning is done through practice. This is why the training of its undergraduate students (and also graduate students, in some cases) is carried out within the framework of a co-operative education formula. Alternating course sessions and paid internships in companies, this method is not only one of the main characteristics but also one of the strengths of ÉTS. In addition to their courses, all students must have successfully completed three internships in industry, totaling at least twelve months, to graduate. At the end of their program, they have the equivalent of one year of experience, which undeniably favors their insertion into the labor market.

The School brings together nearly 25% of the entire student population to the Bachelor of Engineering degree in Quebec, which ranks it first among the universities that offer this undergraduate degree. In Canada, it is one of the five largest engineering schools or faculties. It also offers master’s and doctoral programs in many fields of engineering, as well as certificate programs for those wishing to acquire specialization or additional training.

In addition to its full-time and part-time engineering degree programs, ÉTS is also recognized in the business for its development department, ÉTS formation . More than 3,000 executives, professionals and technicians from all economic sectors attend each year many intensive training seminars in the fields of quality, management, technology and computer science.
